The
Wandering
Sifu
From Corporate to Nomad
Driven by a deep-seated urge for change and insights discovered in the i-chings wanderer hexagram (56), I decided to trade a high-stress advertising career for a global, nomadic life of purpose and discovery.
A Lifelong Discipline
As a 4th Degree Black Sash and Shaolin Wing Chun Disciple, I’ve spent over 20 years studying and training with the world's leading authorities.
Empowering through Kung Fu
My mission is to preserve traditional knowledge and transform lives by sharing methods of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual cultivation.
What I Teach
Chan
A path toward sudden enlightenment that transcends rigid study. It focuses on the direct experience of your "original nature" by going beyond the layers of conditioned existence.

Qigong
Rooted in Taoist tradition and built upon the "Three Regulations": Body, Breath, and Mind. Preserving, cultivating, and transforming vital energy for health and personal mastery.

Invasion
The Manchurians invaded China and toppled the Ming Dynasty, creating an oppressive system and sparking centuries of resistance.

Shaolin
Ming Loyalists found refuge in the Shaolin Temple, developing Wing Chun as an efficient combat system for the underground resistance.

Societies
Rebels used Wing Chun to wage insurgency. Strict secrecy and code words became essential for survival against the Rulers.

Red Boats
Revolutionaries hid within theatrical troupes. Traveling by river, they spread propaganda while disguised as opera performers.

Public Era
Following the Qing's fall, masters fled civil war to Hong Kong and taught the public, shifting the art into a commercial practice.

Ip Man
The Father of Modern Wing Chun, Ip Man introduced this treasure to a global audience and ensured the art survived mid-century chaos.

Moy Yat
A disciple of Ip Man who moved to NYC in 1973, establishing Ving Tsun in the US with an emphasis on the "Kung Fu life."

Benny Meng
Founder of the Ving Tsun Museum, Grand Master Meng dedicated his life to preserving the system’s science and Shaolin roots.

John Lambert
A dedicated mentor and pillar of the community, Master Lambert serves as a bridge to the system's deep heritage and knowledge.

Michael Dumas
A second-generation disciple bridging the gap between combat efficiency and internal meditation and Qigong.
Where am I?
Currently rooted in the rugged landscapes of North Yorkshire. Between the rolling moors and ancient forests, I find the perfect stillness to sharpen my craft and share the path of the Wanderer with those seeking discipline in the modern world.
I offer private lessons, group sessions, and seminars covering a broad range of topics from Meditation to Combat Science. I also appreciate meeting fellow practitioners to share notes and exchange knowledge.
Thanks.
Thanks for reaching out. I'll read your message and reply as soon as possible. —Michael
